Damn, Sam!

I was standing with Leonard and Lee out beside Thomas' truck-
Lee pulled a little bitty cigarette out and said Y'all ever try this stuff?-
I just shook my head and I swigged my beer and said yeah I guess I rolled my own-
Well he lit it up and he took a puff and he smiled and he passed it on-
And I hollered out DAMN SAM where did you get it?
Pass it around again and let me hit it
Funniest little cigarette that I ever saw-
Why's a little thing like that against the law?
We were falling all over the place, laughin at the damnedest things-
Someone said if we could find a key, maybe we should go for a spin-
Well my Uncle Charlie was a'walkin up the road we pulled over to pick him up-
Well he slid on in and began to grin when he got a whiff of that truck-
And he hollered out DAMN SAM....
Well a cloud of dust came appearing up the road with a siren and some blue lights on-
So I pulled her over and I hung my head and I hoped I didn't look too stoned-
But he just kept on traveling on and let us sitting there alone-
And I hollered out DAMN SAM

Tangle Up The Sheets

It's time that we reached an understanding-
Forget about those things your mama said-
We've been dancing every dance this evening-
I think it's time we put this thing to bed-
So let's tangle up the sheets-
Cause you look good enough to eat-
We may never be this drunk again-
I'll be Tarzan you be Jane-
We can try to kill some pain-
And you don't have to be my new girl friend-
It's getting late and the bar will soon be closing-
I'm half stoned and my money's almost gone-
So take my hand and we'll stumble 'cross that dance floor-
And we'll say hey play another Gary Stewart song-
And we'll Tangle...
The time is here now, we finally got together-
I'm laying' right beside you on your bed-
I hope this is a night we won't remember-
Cause in the morning we'll both wish that we were dead-

Tomorrow

|

Me and her got along like a flame and gasoline
We were hell on wheels an infernal machine
About the time we got together they invented pills and booze
We were in love with each other the rest is just bad news
We didn't give a damn about tomorrow
We both knew it never was gonna come
Burn it all and beg steal or borrow
Don't leave nothing but smoke when you're all done
We went a hundred miles an hour from the day we were born
where there was thunder there was lightning and we were out there in the storm
Making love in the rain, on a hill in the field
Knowing in the darkness no truth would be revealed
